We’re excited to announce a significant improvement to our Helm Chart versioning: chart versions and product release versions are now managed separately. This change brings greater clarity and flexibility for DevOps teams working with ReportPortal. Going forward, the appVersion in the Chart.yaml file will reflect the product release version, ensuring a direct link to the ReportPortal release you’re deploying. Meanwhile, the version field will denote the Helm Chart’s own version, helping you track updates and changes specific to the chart itself.
This separation allows us to release updates to the Helm Chart more frequently, addressing functional enhancements and security fixes independently of ReportPortal product releases. By aligning product and chart versioning independently, we aim to simplify the deployment and maintenance of ReportPortal.
